Lens is a desktop IDE for browsing and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters. We hold it because k9s and managed-cloud consoles cover the useful workflows without another commercial desktop application.

Summary
Why hold: The GUI is convenient, but it does not justify another tool in the standard workflow. k9s provides a capable terminal experience, while managed services such as Google GKE include adequate native cluster views.
When Lens is still useful: Teams that strongly prefer a desktop GUI, manage many clusters, and value integrated resource views, logs, shells, and Helm workflows.
Licensing note: Lens Desktop is a Mirantis commercial product. FreeLens is the actively maintained MIT-licensed continuation of the original open-source codebase. OpenLens is effectively legacy.
